🐻 How does the Bear think?
The Bear analyses the data you've logged and gives each signal a score. Only the fields you actually filled in are counted — unanswered fields are excluded so they don't skew the result.
⚡ Energy — carries the most weight. Very low = depressed direction; very high = manic direction.
😴 Sleep — too little sleep = manic signal; too much = depressed signal.
💊 Medication — taken = stabilising; missed = slightly destabilising.
🏃 Steps — very high = manic signal; very low = depressed signal.
Here's how the scores are combined into a suggestion:
Weighted average — each signal is weighted by importance (energy has the highest weight) and all filled-in scores are averaged together into a single number on a scale from depressed → manic.
Normalisation — only fields you answered count. If you only fill in energy and sleep, the result is based purely on those two. This means missing data never drags the score toward "stable" artificially.
Middle moods are harder — "Stable" and "Low" are narrow bands in the middle of the scale. When signals are mixed, the Bear may land on either. The extremes (Manic, Elevated, Depressed) are easier to detect.
It's not a diagnosis — this is a pattern-spotting tool, not a clinical assessment. It works best over time as a prompt to reflect, not as a definitive label for how you feel.

r is the correlation coefficient — a number between −1 and +1 that measures how consistently two things move together in your data.
r = +1 — perfect positive link (e.g. more sleep always means better mood) r = −1 — perfect inverse link (one goes up as the other goes down) r = 0 — no relationship detected
